I read monstrilio

( I’m making a point to copy and paste instagram posts onto our website in case instagram ever goes boom; so here you go, a post from this week )
Read this soooo fast laaa. You know when you’re in the mood for a fasttt book and it’s not so much a craving for the good salt of fast food, you just actually want real pace? I didn’t expect Monstrilio to be such a romp. A book by Gerardo Sámano Córdova, it’s about a mourning parent that keeps her kid’s lung and grows it into something, or someone, else. I liked that premise but I’m glad it didn’t rely on it — liked how much it started walking downhill, and building momentum, running and running, and then tripping over itself towards the end in all these specific ways that kept me so engaged. it was easy to run with.
extras: always funny to read about fictional artists in books. I was going between the audiobook and this dead ink edition, knitting while I listened, and then one of the characters started knitting a black scarf and that was funny too.
algún día, voy a compartir estas críticas en español pero todavía soy una pulmónita que se está creciendo. tengo clases cada día, a ver, espero que no lleve tanto tiempo. hasta luego, gracias a gerardo por la gran cae, no sé por qué me puso reír
