June 2025: Recipient 57, Rose Nordin
The 57th Recipient of the White Pube Creatives Grant is … Rose Nordin!! Rose is an artist and designer based in London. We’ve actually been big fans of her work since before TWP was TWP, we share her interest in alt publishing practices, so we’re really glad to be able to support her work in this way. With this grant, we’re really glad also to be able to support practitioners who defy categorisation, working in blended interdisciplinary ways, and Rose’s work manages to encompass a huge span, sitting between things and expanding the limits of them. We hope you enjoy her work as much as we do!
BIO: Rose Nordin is British Malay artist and graphic designer working with expanded notions of publishingโ considering the book as a portal, letterforms as talismans and publishing as ritual knowledge production.
Through publication and type design, flag making, installation and metalwork, Rose is interested in printed and material language for governance and devotion.
Rose has produced bodies of research through British Council and A-N Network on social and political possibilities of print in Malaysia and Japan and is using the White Pube Grant to fund her attendance at Para-site workshop in Hong Kong for artist publishers.
Rose was previously Artist in Residence at Jan Van Eyck Academie (NL) Research Associate at iniva (UK), Social Practice Fellow at the University of Chicago (USA) and is an associate lecturer at the University of Arts London.
