We are happy to announce that the 28th Creatives Grant recipient is Sharifa. 18 year old East Midlands-born musician Sharifa is a singer, rapper, producer, artist and DJ now studying in London. He sent us his new song COME AND HELP ME and we immediately, easily loved it. This new wave, dreamy, disaffected performance made us think about what happens to writing when it is presented through a song like this — where the intonation of the lyrics gives a sense of crying and of urgency. We just think it’s very good and cool and we’re glad to be able to support more of it with the grant, so thank you to funders Creative Debuts for letting us do that.
